Trey Rodriguez

Head Boys' Coach

Coach Rodriguez is in his 2nd year being the Head Coach at GOHS. This will be his 10th year teaching and coaching. Previously he was at Aldine Davis where they earned district & area team titles, and back to back bronze state finishes in the 4x200m relay. Coach Rodriguez earned his BS degree from Houston Baptist University where he competed in the throws in Track & Field.


Clayton Callicutt

1st Assistant/Jumps

Coach Callicutt is entering his third year of coaching Track and Field at Grand Oaks High School. Coach Callicutt has had the privilege of coaching Boys Long Jump and Boys and Girls High Jump at Grand Oaks High School. During his time coaching High and Long Jump, Coach Callicutt has had a school record holder in High Jump and an Area Qualifier for Long Jump. Coach Callicutt is looking forward to building the best in our athletes to excel and continue to grow as individuals moving towards the future. #GOFastGrizzlies #GOJump

Andrew Higham

Justin Garrison

Discus Coach

Coach Garrison is entering his first season as a Grizzly track coach.  Previously, Coach Garrison spent five seasons coaching shot and discus at Willis high school.  During his time at Willis, he had multiple district champions, area champions, and regional qualifiers in both events.  Coach Garrison is looking forward to the opportunity to help grow and build the Grizzly track program.

Jimmy Burleson

Hurdle/Jumps Coach

Coach Burleson will be completing his second year at Grand Oaks High School. He is a graduate of Kermit High School and received a BS Degree at Angelo State University.  Coach Burleson will enter his 35th year of coaching and brings head track coaching experience from Tulia, New Caney, and Willis. He will be coaching the boys and girls hurdlers and triple jump at Grand Oaks.  He will also be coaching PE and teaching Teen Leadership classes.  Coach Burleson and his wife, Cindy, have a son,  Jayden.


Joe Danzer

Jumps Coach

Coach Danzer has been coaching track since he arrived in Houston TX.  While in High School in Iowa, he was a letterman in Track and Field.  Since arriving in Houston, he has had 3 different athletes finish as district champions in the shot put while in Aldine ISD coaching at the Junior High level.  He has coached everything from shotput and discus to sprinters and horizontal jumps. 

While coaching Shotput and Discus last year, he managed to have numerous kids throw personal records at all 3 levels (Freshman, JV, Varsity) Last year, Coach Danzer had a student athlete finish 4th place overall in the District for Discus and qualify for the 6A Aread Track Meet in Waco Tx.

Dennis Krantz

Shot Put Coach

Coached track and field for 17 years in many capacities as a varsity head coach, meet coordinator and as a throws coach. Coach Krantz has had the privilege of coaching 13 district championships, 7 regional titles, 7 state champions in shot and disc (boys and girls), accrued 41 state medals in shot and disc and 3 overall team state championships during this span. He has also had the pleasure to coach 2 female throwers that qualified and competed in the elite Texas Relays held annually in Austin.
